Celtic Pendant: Tintagel Maze (The labyrinth of Tintagel)

Ref: KPN60

The labyrinths were a very important element in the Celtic culture. The labyrinth represents a sacred journey, in which to seek the key of knowledge and inner growth.

According to the Druids it represented an expression of the collective unconscious: the seven paths leading to its center represent the journey of man towards his essence. Thus the labyrinth symbolizes the search for equilibrium, for an ancient order that has fought primitive chaos and that can indicate to Man the way to follow in order to recover harmony.

This pendant represents the drawing found in Tintagel (Cornwall), carved in a stone and dating back to the Celtic period.
