Quaich with Celtic Knot

Ref: KQU128

Original Celtic Quaich, decorated with a celtic Knot

Originally from Scotland, the Quaich is an ancient cup used to seal a pact between two clans.

According to legend, when a pact or peace was sealed between clans, the two chiefs met to drink from the Quaich: each on one side, with its own flat handle. Thus they drank from the same cup, but remaining independent of each other.

During the seventeenth century the Quaich was offered to welcome pilgrims and travellers, while today it is used in wedding ceremonies and baptisms.

This Quaich carries the drawing of the Celtic Knot in the center: symbol of the continuity and flow of Life
