Tibetan Mala made with 108 Rudraksha seeds

Ref: MALA01

Rudraksha is a Sanskrit word, composed of Rudra and Aksa: where Rudra is one of the Vedic names of Shiva and Akṣa means 'tears'. Thus defined, the name means "The tears of Shiva".

Some Sanskrit dictionaries translate akṣa as eye, in which case Rudraksha would mean "Eye of Shiva".
Akṣa also carries definitions such as "the soul" and "religious knowledge" (Rakṣā of root rakṣ is often translated as "to protect").
