He had to protect the Tree from the attacks of the dragon N\u00ed\u00f0h\u00f6ggr and from those of a series of worms that wanted to erode its roots and overthrow all the deities it represented. Yggdrasil could count also on the help of the Norns, who watered it with the water taken from the well of Urd.&nbsp;<strong>A long bridge, the Bifr\u00f6st united Yggdrasil to the House of the Gods.<\/strong><\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yggdrasil oozes honey and gives shelter to a nameless eagle, who lives with an hawk in between its eyes, named Ve\u00f0rf\u00f6lnir. Yggdrasil is home also to a squirrel (Ratat\u00f6sk), a dragon (N\u00ed\u00f0h\u00f6ggr) and four deers: D\u00e1inn, Dvalinn, Duneyrr y Dura\u00der\u00f3r. The Norns live by its roots.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To the Norse the world of Men was just one of the branches of Yggdrasil, as it owns nine worlds.&nbsp;<strong>Through&nbsp; them all travelled Odin<\/strong>, to reach the Tree and discover the sevret of the Runes.<\/p><div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"982\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.kokulisworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/ygg1-982x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5846\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.kokulisworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/ygg1-982x1024.jpg 982w, https:\/\/www.kokulisworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/ygg1-600x626.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.kokulisworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/ygg1-288x300.jpg 288w, https:\/\/www.kokulisworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/ygg1-768x801.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.kokulisworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/ygg1-1472x1536.jpg 1472w, https:\/\/www.kokulisworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/ygg1.jpg 1898w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 982px) 100vw, 982px\" \/><\/figure><\/div><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Tree is divided into three parts:&nbsp;<strong>Niflheim (the roots), Midgard (the core) y Asgard (the crown)<\/strong><\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The roots are three: the first one goes to the&nbsp;<\/strong>Hvergelmir Spring, the second is the one owned by Mimir, and the third is the house of the Norns, the Fate.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>The worlds are, in ascending order:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/em><\/p><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Helheim\">H<\/a>elheim<\/strong>, here live the deads<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Svartalfheim<\/strong>, house of the dark elves and of the dwarves\u00a0<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Nilfheim<\/strong>, the world of terror and fog\u00a0<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>J\u00f6tunheim<\/strong>, House of the Giants\u00a0<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Midgard<\/strong>, the world of the Humans (also known as Mannaheim).<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Vanaheim<\/strong>, House of the Vanir\u00a0(tribe of the nature and fertility deities)\u00a0<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Alfheim,<\/strong>\u00a0where the elves of the light live\u00a0(also known as Ljusalfheim)<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Asgard,<\/strong>\u00a0House of the Gods (\u00c6sir).<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Muspelheim:\u00a0<\/strong>the primordial world of fire and Ginnugagap (the cosmic abyss)<\/li><\/ul>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The nine world of Yggdrasil, the Tree of Life Yggdrasil&nbsp;(o&nbsp;Yggdrasill) is an eternal ash, also called&nbsp;the Ash of the Universe&nbsp;in the myths of Norsmen.
