Ghana: handmade fan in Kente fabric

Ref: KGH15

Wonderful  handmade fan from Ghana.

The fabric used is kente, typical of the Akan culture. It is a mixture of silk and cotton woven on a loom. This type of fabric is used only on important occasions or ceremonies, as it is considered sacred and worthy of kings.

It is still a highly respected fabric in Ghana, also due to the symbolic meaning of each of the colours in the different pieces of the fabric.
